The word Головоломка, transliterated Golovolomka (puzzle) in Russian consists of two parts: "head" and "break".
It comes from the French "casse-tête", which literally means "puzzle" or "problem".
Interestingly, in French, this word is also used to refer to an edged weapons. In Russian, it is divided into two concepts: "brass knuckles" and "puzzle".
The inventor was inspired by this homonym to create a unique puzzle modelled after brass knuckles.
