The Skewb^2 is a coreless deepcut jumbling puzzle. It has 7 cuts, 6 of which initially turn in 120° increments and the equator in 60° increments. While the axis system can be derived from a face turning hexagonal bipyramid with an equator turn, this bipyramid is not a sweet spot geometry.
The axis system is derived from two skewbs in an identical way that Dave's Diamond is derived from two 2x2x2s. Hold the Skewb by opposing corners and rotate it by 60° to get this cut pattern. Two key differences is that the Skewb is simple deepcut and the equator cut belongs to both sets of skewb cuts. However, the Skewb^2 is not simple deep cuts even though it is implemented with a coreless rail mechanism. As a consequence there can be internal blocking of moves. Surprisingly this Internal blocking is somewhat minor.
Unlike Dave's Diamond, the Skewb^2 has no trouble jumbling despite not being a sweet spot geometry and not simple deep cut.
